As you might be aware, the NHS COVID-19 App is available to download on mobile devices. Go to https://www.covid19.nhs.uk/
Businesses that are open to the public are advised, from Thursday 24th September, to also create their own Coronavirus NHS QR Code Poster for their premises.
This enables customers to scan your businesses unique QR Code as they enter your premises, removing the need for you to record their contact details. The recommendation is that you place your QR scanning posters / cards in several places. IE at the entrance, on tables, on menus, at the payment point etc.
Clearly not everyone will scan the QR code (some do not have up to date phones) and businesses are required to check that customers have done this. There could still be an element of manual recording required and as before this information needs to be held for 21 days.
