BRIGHTON SEES AN IMPROVEMENT WITH FOOD HYGIENE COMPLIANCE

SFBB Systems Ltd have been working closely with Brighton & Hove City Council for the past two years sustaining their original FSA funded project and they have found that businesses who have received 1 to 1 coaching on the initial set-up and use of the Food Standards Agency’s developed documented food safety management system, Safer Food Better Business (SFBB), over 50% of them are fully complaint with all requirements.

75% of businesses show that they have a good understanding on how the pack should be used for legal compliance and how it can be used by the Food Business Operator to manage their business.

Nick Wilmot, Divisional Environmental Health Officer for Brighton & Hove City Council said “I am pleased with the results. The businesses which scored badly on evaluation tend to be those where the Food Business Operator has changed. We are now also effectively targeting SFBB Coaching to businesses that score less than 2 stars on the Scores on the Doors scheme and the results are extremely encouraging”.

Due to the success of this years sustainability project, Brighton & Hove City Council are going to continue to help fund further training next year for over 100 food businesses using SFBB Systems Ltd as their preferred partner.
